So I’ve changed the shape of my nails to oval or semi-pointed. I’m on my fourth week now and I love them. They are easier to type with, my fingers look more feminine and I have gotten a lot of compliments on them. I’ve worn my nails square for 20+ years. When I first had them shaped this way, I couldn’t get past the thought that they looked like miniature Easter eggs or the thought that I looked like an old lady. So I had the Nail Tech build the sides back up to a square. Then a couple weeks past and I still desired the new look and asked for the oval shape again. This time I didn’t use color and got a french polish which made me like them a lot more, but I still thought they looked like eggs.
This week I chose to go for the new polish style; “ring finger a different color”. I received several reviews from men oddly. I had a metro-sexual tell me they looked “ghetto”, a gay male said they were “artsy and creative”, an older male from the Hamptons initially asked “if I ran out of polish, but thought they looked really nice” and lastly an ex-NFL player said “I really like your nails”. Next time I polish I am going to try the combination of gray with one black ring finger nail.
At the end of the day, if you manage to make great selections, you can still look classy and creative at the same time. Some may disagree with me, but it is a matter of opinion right. The colors used are OPI-Mod About You on all fingers except the ring finger and OPI-Shorts Story on my ring fingers.
